This anonymous, online forum is a social experiment dedicated to free speech. Think of it as a big old soapbox in a town square.
Anyone can climb on our online soapbox and make their thoughts known to the world. There is no censorship, moderation, or content screening (except for automated spam filtering).
You don't have to provide your real name. In fact, we urge you not to. There is no registration and no login, and posts disappear from our database the moment they disappear from the site.
This site is unmoderated, largely unmonitored, uncensored, and anonymous. It is therefore very likely that you will find something here that you find offensive. Your use of this site, including reading or posting comments, constitutes acceptance of our Terms of Service and Privacy Policy.
Also, because we require no registration, anyone can pretend to be anyone. If you see something posted by President Obama, Queen Elizabeth, or Bill Gates, most likely the comment was posted by a pretender.
Finally, don't believe anything you read here. Anyone can post anything on this site. So if you try to "prove" some point or another by saying, "But I read in on the Big Old Soapbox," don't complain to us when other people think you're, well, a jerk.
It varies. This site is designed to be an an ephemeral forum. What is said eventually will fade away. Old posts are constantly replaced by new posts, so your post may remain for minutes, hours, days, or weeks.
No. This is an unmoderated, largely unmonitored site. There is no mechanism to "report a bad post" or request that a post be removed. Once something is posted, it is there until other posts replace it. So if you say something really stupid and regret it, then just post some more comments to the same page until the really stupid one is gone.
Two reasons: Firstly, to try to cut down on the spam. Secondly, because malicious individuals often post links to sites that can infect your computer.
Thanks for visiting. Have fun!
